The staple of any great dish is a good sauce and stir-fry is no exception! Below you is a quick recipe for Mic's favorite stir-fry sauce. All of the ingredients should be available at your nearest grocery store. There are links to some of the less common ingredients.

What You'll Need

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)

  • 1/2 tablespoon chili paste (Huy Fong Foods brand)

  • 1/6 cup organic orange juice

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 4 tablespoons agave nectar (you can also use brown sugar)

  • 2 tablespoons organic rice wine vinegar (Marukan brand)

Instructions

  • Starting with the soy sauce, combine all ingredients. Be sure to taste the sauce along the way to make sure it is the right consistency and meets your spice/taste needs.

  • You should taste less salt and more of a balanced, sweet, mildly spicy flavor with a thin consistency.

  • Serve with stir fry and even use as a spring roll dipping sauce!

Tips!

  • Less is more with soy sauce. Even though it is the base, you want to make sure it does not over power the sauce.

  • The chili paste is very spicy! I would recommend starting with a small amount (even less than the 1/2 tablespoon) and slowly adding in more as you taste the sauce.
